France BioImaging is deeply involved in training activities. These activities are first dedicated to both beginners and experienced users. However FBI strategy is also to develop vocational training to platform engineers and education for future platform staff, based on the concept that to “train the trainers”, is mandatory. This aspect is an integral part of recommendations from ANR & H2020. Each node already performs a lot of onsite training sessions (see core facilities websites). Partner imaging networks are also very present throughout the territory. FBI aims to reinforce and support those already existing actions at the national level, such as the emblematic MiFoBio CNRS School. FBI also promotes and coordinates new types of educational actions, such as France BioImaging-Advanced Training (FBI-AT). More importantly, FBI role is also to strengthen and disseminate the high quality national training activities in order to match up with an international visibility. FBI is now involved in three validated H2020 projects, with a special focus on user and vocational training and exchange of imaging core facility staff, starting in 2016.
