The National Infrastructure for Biology and Health (INBS) saw significant development in 2011, driven by the French government’s “Programme Investissements d’Avenir” (PIA).

Today, France hosts 27 INBS, listed in the roadmap of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. These infrastructures are designed to provide cutting-edge services to researchers and industry, support and train scientific communities, and foster technological innovation. Some of them also hold European-level recognition.

INBS Club

France‑BioImaging is one of the National Research Infrastructures in Biology and Health (Infrastructures Nationales en Biologie et Santé – INBS) supported by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

Within this ecosystem, FBI collaborates closely with other national infrastructures like IFB, , FRISBI, ProFI, CELPHEDIA and others to:

  • Coordinate strategic calls and technology development projects
  • Organise joint training courses and national symposia
  • Share expertise, best practices and data management strategies
  • Promote access for users through shared calls

This national integration ensures that imaging research in France benefits from synergies with genomics, proteomics, animal models and bioinformatics, bridging disciplines for maximum scientific impact.
