We’ve got many news and upcoming events to share with you! Here is a quick rundown.

Reminder: We want your best microscopy image at our Image Contest 2023

Haven’t submitted your image yet? What are you waiting for?

You have until November 10th, 2023 and try to win your registration fees for one 2024 microscopy related event of your choice (FOM, ELMI, EMC, COMULIS conference, etc.).

Last year, we had a wonderful top 3: france-bioimaging.org/announcement/winning-images-fbi-image-contest-2022. This time, it could be you!

We are all eager to see your work!

New call for funding!! COMULISglobe and AgroServ

You can now apply for two new calls to get free open access to instruments and services at one of our nodes’ core facility!

AgroServ

The Horizon Europe project AgroServ has just announced its first call for proposals which offers services and access to more than 100 research installations across Europe (including France-BioImaging!) covering the following scientific domains:

  • Agricultural Sciences
  • Natural Sciences
  • Biological Sciences
  • Material Sciences
  • Engineering
  • Chemistry
  • Medical and Health Sciences
  • Earth and Environmental Sciences
  • Information Science and Technology
  • Humanities and Social Sciences

Learn more about the application procedure right here.
Submit your pre-proposals before October 23, 12:00 am CET.

COMULISglobe

Within the framework of the COMULISglobe project, Euro-BioImaging will be awarding a total of 4 grants for access to its Nodes, specifically designed to support correlative and multimodal imaging.

Two grants will be awarded to European researchers (including from non-EU countries that are Euro-BioImaging members) accessing services at Euro-BioImaging Nodes. Each grant will provide up to EUR 2000 in support of imaging projects that tackle important research questions using two or more imaging modalities.

Two grants will be awarded for international (non-European) researchers accessing services at Euro-BioImaging Nodes. Each grant will provide up to EUR 3000 in support of imaging projects employing two or more imaging modalities.

France-BioImaging will run a booth at Les Rendez-vous Carnot 2023!

It’s October, meaning you will be able to meet France-BioImaging at the Rendez-Vous Carnot 2023 forum!

We are going to present France-BioImaging R&D ecosystem and the multiple advanced biological imaging technology developments taking place on FBI imaging platforms and R&D teams.

If you are in Lyon between October 18 and October 19 attending the Rendez-Vous Carnot as well, be sure to drop by our booth and meet some of our colleagues at the venue:

  • Caroline Thiriet , France-BioImaging External Affairs Manager
  • Etienne Henry, France-BioImaging R&D and Tech-Transfer mission Officer
  • Alban Belloir, France-BioImaging Communication Officer

Looking forward to meeting you there!

Euro-BioImaging User Forum: FBI will talk about CLEM for plant tissues

The next Euro-BioImaging User Forum will take place online on Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 2 pm-5 pm CEST. The topic is “Understanding plant biology.”

This event will highlight how cutting-edge imaging technologies can support research into the structure and function of plants, shed light on plant health, resilience and adaptability, and help answer agroecology research questions. Applications of diverse imaging technologies and plant biology research contexts will be highlighted by two keynote speakers and presentations from users of the Euro-BioImaging services, showcasing the specific expertise available at the Euro-BioImaging Nodes. We will also provide information on funding opportunities to access Euro-BioImaging services for agroecology-related research projects.

Clément Chambaud and Lysiane Brocard from our Bordeaux node will give an expert presentation about Correlative Light and Electron Microscopy of Plant Tissues. Do not miss it!
