A National Research Infrastructure for Biological Imaging

Support to Technological and Methodological Transfer Projects

France-BioImaging launches a call for Technology & Methodology Transfer projects, aimed at speeding up dissemination and use of new technologies and methods or approaches developed within the Infrastructure. This open call is not restricted to labs and Imaging platforms from the FBI perimeter. Any research labs or imaging facilities can apply, even from abroad. However, contact with the FBI-site of choice, should be taken before to apply, in order to secure availability of personal and material (see Service offering & Network). Applications can be electronically submitted at any time, via the form below. They are examined four times a year by the Executive Board of France-BioImaging. After acceptance, FBI will support the selected projects for travel, journey expenses, consumables and/or “hours/machine” expenses when necessary (i.e. platform use). Acquisition of equipment is not eligible. Financial support will be adapted, depending on the nature of the project and its duration, but will remain in the order of a few thousands €.

Foreseen project schemes (but not exclusive) are :

-Onsite (FBI labs and platforms) short visits (2 to 3 persons) for expertise and “know how” acquisition of unique and sophisticated techniques, proofs of concept for new approaches or combination of approaches, testing biological project feasibility…
-Hosting expert Researcher or Engineer from one FBI site, by a demanding external site.

Researchers (including post-doc) and Engineers with real background in “bioimaging” aspects (microscopy, biophysics, bioimage informatics including bioimage analysis…).
