Atomic-scale 3D structural analysis by cryo-electron microscopy on cells and tissues (cryo-lamella by cryo-FIB-SEM, cryo-TEM, cryo-SEM)

We combine latest developments in cryo sample preparation and imaging by electron microscopies (cryo-FIB/SEM and cryo-TEM) to observe biomolecules of interest (ribosomes, carboxysomes, viruses, nuclear pore complexes…) within their cellular or tissular environment. Using cryo-electron tomography followed by image analysis, we are able to determine their 3D structures with near atomic resolution. Altogether, these methodologies pave the way for in situ structural biology studies.
