    This call will be open on 2026-04-15; the deadline for submission of proposals is 2026-05-18 at 23h00 CET. Funds are expected to be transferred before the end of June.

    Applications will be submitted on the submission form below.

    For any question, please contact the National Coordination at: contact@france-bioimaging.org

    Call design

    Implantation/Transfer of new technologies on FBI facilities. “Technology” implies instrumentation, probes, staining methods, software or data analysis.

    This call has been designed to increase the attractivity or the competitiveness of the Core facilities of FBI infrastructure. It has been designed to support the establishment of competitive or new services, in accordance with the needs of users.

    In the context of this call, France-BioImaging will fund 4 projects (50 k€ each to cover a 12 month salary). Co-funding of projects by core facilities or R&D teams is encouraged.

    The call will fund one of the following three cases:

    • the transfer of a competence or device developed within an R&D team of France BioImaging to a France BioImaging platform;
    • the development of a new imaging, sample preparation, or analysis scheme within a France BioImaging platform;
    • the democratization in a novel cutting-edge equipment, unique within France BioImaging platforms.

    The funding will typically cover a 12 months salary for an engineer/postdoc, hired by the core facility, to achieve the technology transfer.

    At the end of the funding (12 months), the technology should be imperatively physically implanted in the core facility, managed by the facility staff, and fully open to users (with clear usage fees) It should be identified as a new (at least local) FBI service offer.

    Selection process and evaluation criteria

    Project selection will be organized by the National Coordination of France-BioImaging and will be based on internal evaluations.

    Each application will be evaluated by all node heads and co-heads (1 vote each), except the ones from which the application arose or those in direct conflict of interest. The core facility WG will be asked to propose its own ranking (2 votes). The CN will also rank the application with a 2 vote weight.

    Only one core facility per node of France-BioImaging can apply. Each node will thus need to do a preselection of local facilities candidates.

    Applications will be assessed according to the following evaluation criteria:

    • Scientific quality, competitive positioning
    • Feasibility, timeline in term of CF implantation
    • Adequacy of resources with the proposed project
    • Estimation of the user market and potential for user adoption
    • Plan for training and sustainability

    Project submissions

    This call will be open on 2026-04-15; the deadline for submission of proposals is 2026-05-18 at 23h00 CET.

    The application form to be completed by the applicant is available here.

    This form is currently closed for submissions.

    Follow up

    A report will be asked at the end of the first year and another after 2 years of usage of the technology in the facility.
