three-year post-doctoral research assistant post in correlative biological imaging

Organization: Diamond Light Source Beamline B24

Location: Diamond Light Source, Fermi Avenue, Didcot, UK
Send CV, publications, summary and references to:
Maria Harkiolaki at maria.harkiolaki@diamond.ac.uk
cc: perrine.paul-gilloteaux@univ-nantes.fr

Position Information:

This is an exciting opportunity to be a key player in the development and application of emerging imaging methods and also develop a personal biological research focus using these.

The successful candidate will receive all necessary training in biological cryo-imaging at beamline B24 (X-ray absorption and phase-contrast tomography as well as conventional and super resolution visible light imaging) and will work closely with (a) collaborators at the Mistral beamline at ALBA (Barcelona, Spain) focusing primarily on the further development of super resolution fluorescence imaging and its application as well as (b) collaborators at the University of Nantes (France) to commission bespoke software for imaging data correlation between X-ray and visible light microscopies.

This post would be ideal for someone with a solid understanding of optics and good coding skills but individuals with a strong biology/imaging background would also be considered.
