Growth can shorten distances
(Spinning Disk)
In the image we see a temporal stack of the growth of fission yeast, imaged through spinning disk microscopy. In green the plasma membrane, through a transmembran protein GFP tagged. In red the cell wall surface, labeled with a fluorescent lectin. My purpose is to measure the local thickness of the cell wall, as the local distance beween the two labels, and to understand how the cell wall thickness can influence the process of growth.
