Star Pigments

Xenopus laevis (4 days tadpole stage) head under 488nm Laser light. We can observe the eyes at the sides of the head and in black the melanophores that contain the pigments of the skin. The embryo was embed in Mowiol and excited by a 488 laser. The purpose of the image is to study possible phenotypes after depletion of some genes.
