Post-Doctoral/Engineer position on advanced 3D cryo-correlative light and electron microscopy (cryo-CLEM) pipelines to study Sars-CoV-2 cell interactions
Organization: Institut Pasteur
Position Information:
A three years Post-Doctoral/Engineer position is available for a highly motivated candidate to work on advanced 3D cryo-correlative light and electron microscopy (cryo-CLEM) pipelines to study Sars-CoV-2 cell interactions at Institut Pasteur, Paris.
This technological project will be carried out in a stimulating multidisciplinary environment, between research groups and imaging facilities. The candidate will work with me at the cryo-EM facility of Institut Pasteur in Paris and in close contact with the group of Anne Brelot in the Dynamics of Host-Pathogen Interaction Unit directed by Jost Enninga. He will have the cutting-edge optical and cryo-electron microscopy infrastructure and expertise of Institut Pasteur at his/her disposal to integrate super-resolution methods in the project.
The successful candidates should have a PhD degree as well as documented experience in one, or several of the following fields: structural biology, electron microscopy, 3D visualisation and/or image processing, cell biology, cellular microbiology and a genuine drive for methodological development. Previous experience with advanced fluorescent microscopy imaging would be beneficial.
The cryo-EM facility of Institut Pasteur features state-of-the-art instrumentation for single particles and cellular studies, including a TitanKrios G3i Cryo-TEM equipped with a bioquantum imaging filter and a K3 direct electron detector and phase plates, two Glacios with Falcon III detector and Ceta-D camera for MicroED analysis, an Aquilos cryo-FIB/SEM system with cryo-lift-out and iFLM module, a Leica cryo-light Thunder Imager EM cryo-CLEM microscope.
So, apply and join us on this exciting project in a unique scientific environment in the very heart of Paris!
